Prince Albert’s concern and efforts to raise public awareness of the negative effects on the environment of global warming were certainly justified by an unusually long hot summer this year. Very few of the older buildings in Monaco have air conditioning, but there is a beach and the blue Mediterranean for early morning swims and evenings for listening to concerts from the Salle des Étoiles . . . a popular spot in the summer: full of sparkle and cool inside (when the roof is open, the music can also be heard from balconies and bedrooms all over town). …
